Harold Frederick Shaver - Obituaries

HAROLD F. SHAVER

The funeral for Harold F. Shaver, 78 who died Sunday in a local hospital, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home chapel.  Dr. Ron Fellemende and the Rev. Vernon Pendleton will officiate.  Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemeter.

Shaver was born Oct. 4, 1905 near Kackley, Kan.  He graduated from Kackley High School, Grand Island Business College, Grand Island, Neb., and La Salle Extension University, Chicago, Ill.  He served the Baptist Church of Concordia, Kan., as training union director, deacon and Sanctuary Choir member.

Shaver was a member of First Baptist Church in Enid and of the Friendship Sunday School Class.  He had been employed as cashier of the Kackley State Bank and secretary-treasurer of North Central Kansas Production Credit Association, Concordia, Kan., Kingman Production Credit Association, Kingman, Kan., and for the past 33 years before retirement as president of the Enid Production Credit Association.

On June 29, 1927, he and Avis L. Carney were married at Kackley, Kan.

Survivors include his wife, Avis; one son, Eldon H. Shaver, Seattle, Wash,; one daughter, Patty Lou Abbott, Cleburne, Texas; five grandsons; three great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Velva V. Buchheister, Belleville, Kan., and Lucine V. Hanson, Salina, Kan.

Harold F. Shaver

Harold F. Shaver, 78 Enid, Okla., died Sunday, March 11, in an Enid hospital.

He was born Oct. 4, 1905, near Kackley, a son of John and Rose Shaver.  After graduating from Kackley High School, he was graduated from Grand Island Business College, Grand Island, Neb., and LaSalle Extension University, Chicago, Ill.  On June 29, 1927, he married Avis L. Carney at Kackley.

Mr. Shaver served the Baptist Church, Concordia, as training union director, Sunday School Superintendent, Deacon and was a member of the Sanctuary Choir.  He was a member of First Baptist Church, Enid, and of the Friendship Sunday School Class.

He was a cashier at the former Kackley State Bank before joining North Central Kansas Production Credit Association, Concordia, as secretary-treasurer.  Later he worked for Production Credit Association, Kingman, and prior to retirement had worked 33 years at the Enid Production Credit Association, where he retired as president.

Surviving are his wife, Avis; a son, Eldon H., Seattle, Wash.; a daughter, Patty Lou Abbott, Cleburne, Texas; five grandsons; three great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Velva V Buchheiser, Belleville, and Lucine V. Hanson, Salina.

Funeral services were at 2 p. m. Wednesday, March 14, in Ladusau-Evans Funeral Chapel, Enid, with Dr. Ron Fellemende and the Rev. Vernon Pendleton officiating.  Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery, Enid.

Relatives from this area attending the services include: Mr. and Mrs. John Smith, Jamestown; J. Terry Smith, Concordia; Mrs. Velva Buchheister, Belleville; Mr. and Mrs. Irwin Johnson, Courland, and Margaret Carney and Mr. and Mrs. Russell Hanson, all of Salina.
