Martin Q. Blosser - Obituary

Like so many of our newspaper clippings, this one cut-off everything related to the newspaper name, publish date, etc.

Martin Q. Blosser

JAMESTOWN - Martin Q. Blosser, 90, Jamestown, died Wednesday, June 8, 1988, at the Cheyenne Lodge Nursing Home, Jamestown.

Mr. Blosser was born July 22, 1897, at Malta Bend, Mo., and had been a Jamestown resident for many years.  He was a retired farmer and managed a Chevrolet agency in Belleville and Jamestown.  He had been mayor of Jamestown for several years.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Jamestown; the St. John's Lodge No. 113 AF & AM, Concordia; the Scottish rite Masonic Bodies and the ISIS Shrine, both of Salina; and the North Central Shrine Club.  He was a charter member of the Jamestown Lions Club.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby of the home; a daughter, Alice Wagner of Baltimore, Ohio; a sister, Nadine Whitebread of Concordia; two brothers, Loyd of Belleville and Charles of Concordia; a grand-daughter; and three great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church, Jamestown, the Rev. Russel Gotschall officiating.  Burial will be in the Jamestown Cemetery with Masonic graveside rites.

Memorials may be made to the Center for Basic Cancer Research at Kansas State University or the United Methodist Church, Jamestown.

Visitation will be after 10 a.m. today at the Blachly and Buoy Funeral Chapel, Jamestown.
